Our Raw, Healthy, Dairy-Free Take on Hot Chocolate for Toddlers

Chilly winter days ask for tummy-warming solutions that not only taste good but feel like a snuggle with your favourite grown-up.

Here’s our toddler-friendly take on Hot Chocolate that ticks all the boxes without the sugar-induced aftermath.

At We Might Be Tiny HQ we were looking for recipes that are dairy-free, healthy and free from refined sugar for a while before coming across this one.

It tastes delicious and even the little ones can’t say no.

We usually dish it up in our silicone Grip Cups, so tiny hands can hold onto the warm goodness without burning their palms. They’re also shatter-proof which means they can go exploring with their too-tasty-to-put-down beverage without having to worry about any broken dreams.

And once they’re done exploring and slurping we simply pop them in the dishwasher so it can do the hard work for us. Because we love hanging out with our munchkins more than doing the dishes. Who doesn’t, right?

Makes 1 Grip Cup

Ingredients

  • 250 ml (1 cup) almond milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp tahini
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 2 tsp raw cacao powder

Method

Heat the milk gently, in a small pan, until warm. Do not allow to boil.

Add tahini, honey, and raw cacao powder and stir to combine.

Transfer to a Grip Cup and enjoy!
